The Museum
The Museum is housed in a two storey weather boarded building, one of the last representatives in Tenterden of a type of industrial building common in the area in the latter part of the 19th century.

Tenterden and District Museum Association.
The museum was opened in 1976 and is run entirely by volunteers. It gained full registration under the museum and galleries commission scheme in 1992.


The Museum acheived full MLA accreditaion in 2007.

The association serves as a focus for research and enquiry and provides a repository for artefacts connected with the area.


Private visits:
Groups and institutes are most welcome and usually take place when the museum is closed.

These are our specialty and the children are encouraged to dress in Victorian attire and experience the Victorian classroom.

A reduced charge is made for big parties.
Disabled access to ground floor only.

Admissions:
A small admissions charge is made with reductions for children, over 60's and parties.

The shop: is well stocked with books of local interest 'Shire' publications, leaflets, maps, postcards and souvenirs.
